Launch
of the PMK-RD A week
later, on January 28th, the Catalan Society of Psychologists
was the site for the presentation of the new digital version
of Dr. Mira's Myokinetic Psychodiagnostic Test (PMK-RD). On
this occasion the speakers were the President of the Society
Dr. Jaime Almenara, and the authors of the scoring
methodology Drs. J. M. Tous and Albert Viade, both lecturers
in the School of Psychology of the University of Barcelona,
in charge of the Mira y Lopez Laboratory of the Personality,
Evaluation and Treatment Division of the School. The last
speaker was Dr. Bardella, President of Vetor Publishers in
Sao Paulo, Brazil, who holds the exclusivity of the test in
that country. Dr. Bardella had traveled to Barcelona with
the specific purpose of concretizing with the above authors
how best to implement the new methodology. During his brief
intervention Dr.Bardella highlighted the well spread use of
the test in Brazil and in particular its compulsory nature
for applicants for driving licences.
After a simplified theoretical explanation of the
methodology, a demonstration of the new digital version of
the PMK-RD was offered to the audience so that they could
appreciate the greater speed of scoring and interpretation
of results now available. This was followed by a Question
and Answer period by the psychologists in the audience, who
jotted down the web page of Dr,. Mira. The President of the
Society, Dr. Almenara, closed the act and invited the
audience to share light
refreshments.

Rumanian
Edition of the Handbook of Forensic
Psychology
The
book, published in Barcelona in 1932 by Salvat Publishers,
has been recently edited in Bucharest by Oscar Print, in the
Rumanian language. This translation by psychologist Ileana
Trandafir, joins the existing translations of the book in
Portuguese, French and Italian. The book has become a
classic in the literature in the field, not only because of
the early date of publication and the subsequent reprintings
of it in Buenos Aires by The Ateneo Publishers but because
of its conceptualization, which gives it a timeless and
universal perspective, very useful to law students and
future judges. |
